On line Reflection : Trip to the Islamic Museum

A collection of Images which were taken by Casey Choong  of my group. The Museum however was actually quite remarkable , as I have had previous experiences with museums and other attractions in Malaysia, I was actually expecting a long and boring trip. This is mainly because , some of the places i have had a chance to visit were not taken care of and in poor condition. However, this museum gave me a wonderful experience and I even went back to have another look with a friend.

This image had to be one of the most unique pictures that was taken there. the dome of the museum was inverted inwards in on of the halls.

There were some remarkable models on display with great craftsmanship put into it, some motifs were even hand drawn onto the models!

There were also many different artifacts on display , though we did not go through all of them, we did however spend most of our time in the "Indian/ Mughal " section mainly because our 1st project was to focus on Indian Islamic architecture.

Apart from that we did learn that this museum exchanges exhibits with others worldwide! so we will definitely be back to check it out for some new exhibits.

the other highlight of the trip was that we got a first hand experience and short lecture on how the museum staff keep all the exhibits in clean, dust and mold free conditions.
